the silence where all sound starts

Live performance in response to an East London Soundscape as part of World Listening Day. The composition explored the existing soundscape, heavily dominated by traffic noise. Instead of focusing on the intrusive or annoying aspect of traffic in the city, the project explored the idea of the almost hypnotic quality of the un-ending sounds of cars and moving vehicles as a modern-day mantra.
